My Why

Photography means more to me than having fun or clicking buttons on a camera. It’s a way for me to be creative. I can add joy to someone’s life by giving them memories to hold. It helps me provide income for my little family. My son will see a mom that works hard and has a job that lets her prioritize him. I can find ways to show love and compassion to people in a world filled with chaos, uncertainty, and pain.

I have always loved photography

I got my first camera from a family friend. I was always asking to take pictures on her camera. I took photos of everything, from trees to dogs to my sisters to butterflies. When she upgraded to a new camera, she gave me her old one. I used it until it stopped working. My parents knew I wanted my own camera, so they bought me a red Nikon Coolpix. After it stopped working it was a few years until I received a new camera. I took a photography class in my homeschool group (yes I was homeschooled, and no I was not an anti-social hermit) and my parents bought me the first DSLR that Sony made. I was so excited about my first “pro” camera. I dressed up my three sisters at least once a week for photoshoots.

Years later a friend of mine was the photographer AND maid of honor for a wedding. She asked me if I would photograph the ceremony so she could stand with her best friend on her wedding day. I was nervous but so excited. She changed all of the settings and handed me the camera, and the rest is history.

Texas Wedding Photographer

More about me!

I am a born and raised Texan. Both of my parents were in the military and Fort Hood was their last duty station. They decided Texas was the place that they wanted to get married and have a family. My parents raised me and my three younger sisters to always do our best, work hard, love Jesus, and show His love to the people around us.

My mom was obsessed with a show called Bringing Home Baby when she was pregnant with my sisters, and I became fascinated with birth. I used to play doctor with my sisters and friends, and I made them pretend to be pregnant and I would deliver their babies (cringey right?!). When I started college I quickly realized that nursing and medicine is NOT for me. I decided that I would rather take pictures in a labor and delivery room instead of delivering the baby. Yes, I still think birth is one of the coolest things ever! The human body is capable of the impossible and God designed us in such a great way.

There was a point in my teenage years that I wanted to be a wedding planner. I had about twelve Pinterest boards that were full of wedding inspiration. From florals to bridesmaid dresses to planning tips, I had so much fun finding new things and organizing them into different boards. One day I would like to add wedding planning to my services. I think at this point I knew that I would be involved with weddings as a career.

My Family

Meet Daniel and Ezra. They are a big part of why I do what I do.

My husband Daniel and I met at our church. I would have passing conversations with him, but I never knew him well. My sister was an intern for our youth pastor, and she and Daniel became close when she worked there. He got my Snapchat from her and would send me pictures with ugly filters and random messages. At first I thought he was kind of weird and I was hurt by another boy, so I wouldn’t answer him (yes that was rude, I know). I started to feel bad about leaving his messages unanswered, so I started responding and realized he was everything I wanted in a guy. We started dating January of 2018 and were engaged the first week of December. We didn’t date long, but when you know, you know.

Ezra was born March 2020. Being a mom has been the most challenging and the best thing I’ve ever done. He is joyful, stubborn, loving, opinionated, and I love being his mom. We want more kids at some point. My family has always been close and I want that for Ezra and any other children we have.
